Terms of Service
Last updated 23 August 2026
1. About these terms
1.1 AskMe is operated by Pharanos Ltd (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17376780. “AskMe” and “AskMe: Endless Question Cards” are trading names of Pharanos Ltd. The contact route for anything in these terms is the Contact page in the app, or by email at support@askme.cards; postal and other contact points are on our privacy policy.
1.2 By using AskMe, the app or the website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use AskMe.
1.3 These terms sit alongside our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which explain how we handle information about you.
2. What AskMe is
2.1 AskMe is a conversation-starter card app: decks of questions you play by swiping, tools to write and design question cards of your own, sharing, and a moderated community feed.
2.2 Some decks are free. Others are paid for individually, or included in a VIP subscription (see section 6).
2.3 We may add, change or withdraw features. If we withdraw something you have paid for, section 6.6 applies.
3. Your account
3.1 Playing without an account. You can play anonymously. Creating content, posting to the community, contacting us in-app and purchases that follow you between devices need an account.
3.2 Age. You must be at least 13 to have an account. Some decks are gated to 16+ based on the date of birth you declare.
3.2.1 Declaring a false date of birth to reach gated content is a breach of these terms.
3.3 Security. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in method (Apple, Google, or email and password) secure.
3.4 Leaving. You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deletion takes effect immediately and removes your email address from the account; residual data handling is described in the privacy policy.
4. Your content
4.1 You own what you write. Question cards and decks you create remain yours.
4.2 Community posts. When you post a question to the community feed, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to:
4.2.1 display it in the feed and in previews of the feed;
4.2.2 allow other users to save a copy of it into their own decks; and
4.2.3 moderate, format, translate, or truncate it for display.
4.2.4 Copies saved by other users before you delete a post or close your account remain in their decks; you grant an irrevocable, perpetual sub-licence for those existing copies to remain accessible to those users.
4.3 Shares. Sharing a card sends a static snapshot of that card as it existed at the moment of sharing.
4.4 Standards. You must own or have all necessary rights to any content you submit. You must not post content that is illegal, unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, depicts or encourages self-harm, or infringes any third party’s intellectual property or privacy rights. Content must also respect our age restrictions: material suitable only for adults (16+) must be marked as NSFW and must not be posted unflagged into the general community feed.
5. The community feed, moderation and reporting
5.1 Community submissions are published automatically upon passing automated content checks. We do not pre-approve or manually review every post prior to publication. The feed is moderated reactively via user reporting and automated scanning. We reserve the right to remove, block, or modify any post at any time in our sole discretion.
5.2 If we remove or restrict a submission, we will provide a reason in your in-app notifications, unless doing so would compromise platform safety or breach a legal obligation.
5.3 Automated content filters, submission rate limits, and the standards in Section 4 are implemented to maintain feed safety and quality. Attempting to bypass, circumvent, or manipulate these safety systems is a material breach of these terms. Adult (NSFW) questions must be explicitly flagged as such during submission and will remain hidden from any user who has not verified they are 16 or over.
5.4 Reporting and Takedown. Any signed-in user may report a community question. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team, and content that breaches Section 4.4 or applicable law will be removed or restricted expeditiously. Deliberately false, malicious, or vexatious reporting is strictly prohibited and constitutes a breach of these terms.
5.5 Repeated, severe, or illegal breaches of these terms may result in immediate content removal, feature restriction, or temporary or permanent account termination without prior notice (Section 10).
6. Purchases, subscriptions and refunds
6.1 Products. Individual decks (one-off), VIP (monthly or annual subscription, or a lifetime one-off), and ad removal (one-off). Prices are always shown before you buy.
6.2 Billing. On the web, purchases are processed by Stripe on our behalf; Pharanos Ltd is the seller of record, and billing, cancellation and refunds for web purchases are handled by us. On iOS and Android, purchases are made through Apple’s or Google’s in-app purchase systems; billing, cancellation and refunds for those purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their terms. In every case we never see or store your card details (see the privacy policy).
6.3 Subscriptions. VIP subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel a web subscription from your account settings; cancel a store subscription in your Apple ID or Google Play settings. To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the current period.
6.4 When VIP lapses, content it unlocked returns to locked. Nothing you created is ever removed by a lapse.
6.5 Your purchases follow your account, not your device: signing in restores them on any platform.
6.6 Consumer rights. If you are a UK or EU consumer you may have a 14-day right to change your mind about digital content, which you waive for a given purchase when you choose immediate access to it. Nothing in these terms affects statutory rights that cannot be excluded, including rights where digital content is faulty.
6.7 Price changes. We may change subscription prices. We will give you advance notice, and a change applies only from your next renewal after that notice; if you do not accept it you can cancel before the change takes effect.
7. Our content
7.1 The AskMe catalogue of questions, the app, its design and its branding are ours or our licensors’. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them through the app.
7.2 Cards you copy from our catalogue into your decks stay part of our catalogue, the copy in your deck is for your use of the app, not for republication elsewhere.
7.3 No scraping, AI training or bulk extraction. You may not access, copy, index, crawl or extract the AskMe catalogue, the community feed, or any substantial part of them by automated means (including scripts, bots, web scrapers, spidering or bulk downloading), nor use such content to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models. You may not republish, redistribute, mirror, or build competing, derivative or secondary datasets or products from any AskMe content. Ordinary personal, non-automated use through the app’s standard user interface is expressly permitted.
8. What we promise, and what we don’t
8.1 We aim to keep AskMe available and your content safe, but AskMe is provided as is: we do not guarantee it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.
8.2 Questions are conversation material, not advice. Decks that touch on feelings, relationships or money are prompts for talking, not a substitute for professional help of any kind.
9. Liability
9.1 Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
9.2 Subject to 9.1, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of £50 and the amounts you paid us in that period.
9.3 If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights.
10. Suspension and closure
10.1 We may restrict or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, in particular sections 4.4 and 5, or where the law requires us to.
10.2 Where practicable we will tell you why. Where an account is closed for breach, any refund of paid entitlements is at our reasonable discretion except where the law says otherwise.
10.3 You can end things at any time: sign out, or delete your account in Settings.
11. Changes to these terms
11.1 We may update these terms. The current version always lives at this address, with its date at the top.
11.2 For material changes we will give notice in the app. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance of the updated terms; if you do not accept them, stop using AskMe and (if you wish) delete your account.
12. Law and disputes
12.1 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
12.2 The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except that if you live in Scotland, Northern Ireland or an EU member state you may also bring proceedings in your local courts where the law gives you that right.
13. Contact
13.1 The Contact page in the app is the fastest route, or email support@askme.cards. The postal and email contact points on the privacy policy also reach us.
14. Third-party platforms
14.1 Apple Inc., Google LLC and Cloudflare, Inc. are not sponsors of, and are not affiliated with, involved in, or responsible for, any promotions, features, subscriptions or content provided within AskMe or on askme.cards. Your use of the app stores and their payment systems is also governed by their own terms.
